What are Love Locks used for? The simple answer is for love.

We get so many orders for love locks and each one has a story behind it. We can read into the meanings and can only image where they will end up.

Our favorite of all is the proposal lock. Guys around the world have used our locks to pop the question. Engravings like “Will you marry me” and “She said YES” come in at least once a week. How cool is it to be a part of something that will last lifetime.

Some are for the birth of a newborn such as “Welcome to the World Son” or clearly a celebration of their child’s first year in the world, “Happy First Birthday Charlie”.

Sometimes the locks are just a simple initials with a heart. Just a reminder of when their journey started and that they are still going strong with love.

Others are for anniversaries with dates and an occasional anniversary milestone like “50 years still going strong!”.

How can you not enjoy the wonderful messages our customers engrave.  Then there are the silly cute ones with pet names that have special meaning to only their loved one, “Smoochy” was one of my favorites or “Boo Boo Bear”.

There also the travel locks that clearly are meant for overseas to be left behind somewhere to someday hopefully remain until it is visited again. My wife and I always take a lock with us on holiday. We have left locks in Grenada, Barbados, Curacao and Puerto Rico to name a few Islands and then some here in the US, Providence, Newport, NYC and Greenville, SC. Each one commemorates are trip and is something we will look for when we go back in the years to come.
